On January 22, 2024, the city of Ayodhya witnessed a monumental event—the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony. This event marked the consecration of the idol of Lord Rama, symbolizing the culmination of centuries of devotion and the realization of a long-cherished dream for many devotees.

On June 5, 2025, coinciding with Ganga Dussehra, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath led the Pran Pratishtha (consecration) ceremony at Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir. This event marked the installation of the Ram Darbar—featuring white marble idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman—on the temple’s first floor.

In addition to the Ram Darbar, eight other deities were consecrated within newly constructed shrines in the temple complex:

  • Shivling

  • Ganpati

  • Hanuman Ji

  • Surya Dev

  • Goddess Bhagwati

  • Goddess Annapurna

  • Sheshavata

  • Shri Ram Darbar

The three-day Vedic rituals, commencing on June 3, culminated with the main Pran Pratishtha ceremony on June 5 during the auspicious Abhijeet Muhurat (11:25 AM to 11:40 AM). The event attracted devotees, spiritual leaders, and international guests, underscoring Ayodhya’s significance as a center of religious and cultural heritage.

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony was not just a religious event but a national celebration. Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the rituals, emphasizing the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha importance. The city was adorned with decorations, and thousands of devotees gathered to witness the historic moment. Millions of people joined this ceremony as this was broadcasted nationwide.

The Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony was planned, encompassing a series of rituals spread over several days

  • January 16: Prayaschita and Karmakuti Pujan, initiating the purification process.

  • January 17: Parisar Pravesh of the Murti, where the idol was brought into the temple premises. 

  • January 18: Teerth Poojan, Jal Yatra, and Gandhadivas, involving the sanctification with holy water and fragrances. 

  • January 19: Aushadhadivas, Kesaradhivas, and Ghritadhivas, where the idol was anointed with herbs, saffron, and ghee. 

  • January 20: Sharkaradhivas and Phaladhivas, involving offerings of sugar and fruits.

  • January 21: Madhyadhivas, the final preparatory ritual. 

  • January 22: Shaiyadhivas, followed by the main Pran Pratishtha ceremony. 

The main ceremony was conducted during the auspicious Abhijeet Muhurat, between 12:29 PM and 12:30 PM, under the guidance of Chief Acharya Lakshmi Kant Dixit of Kashi, along with 121 Vedic priests.  

Ayodhya’s Second Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha Ceremony 2025: A New Chapter

On June 5, 2025, collaborating with Ganga Dussehra, Ayodhya celebrated another achievement- the ram mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Darbar on the first floor of the Ram Mandir. This event marked the installation of the idols of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman, all made or handcrafted from white marble in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The idols were placed on a two-foot-high white marble throne, enhancing the temple’s spiritual ambiance.

  • June 3: Yagyashala worship and recitations from the Valmiki Ramayana.

  • June 5: The main Pran Pratishtha ceremony conducted between 11:25 AM and 11:40 AM during the auspicious Abhijeet Muhurat.  

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the ceremony as the chief guest, coinciding with his 53rd birthday. The event also saw the participation of international guests, including Errol Musk, father of Elon Musk, who offered prayers and participated in the consecration ceremony.
