The legend of Vaishno Devi dates back thousands of years. It is believed that Mata Vaishno Devi meditated in the Trikuta Mountains and later defeated the demon Bhairon Nath, who tried to harm her. After this event, the Goddess is said to have taken the form of three sacred Pindis (rock formations) inside the cave temple. The temple has been a site of worship for centuries and continues to draw devotees seeking blessings from the Goddess.
