Mauni Amavasya Vrat Katha
Once upon a time, there lived a poor but deeply devoted Brahmin and his wife. Though they were pious and regularly visited holy places to perform penance, they remained childless for many years.
One night, the Brahmin had a divine dream in which a radiant sage appeared and said:
“If you observe a Maun Vrat (vow of silence) on the sacred day of Mauni Amavasya, take a holy bath in the Ganga, and offer prayers and charity with a pure heart, your wishes shall be fulfilled.”
Took a holy dip in the Ganges on Mauni Amavasya, Observed a day-long fast in complete silence, Performed ancestral offerings (Pitru Tarpan), andWorshipped Lord Vishnu with devotion.
Soon after, the couple was blessed with a bright and virtuous son. Their life changed, and their home was filled with joy and prosperity.
Since then, it is believed that those who observe Mauni Amavasya with sincerity, silence, and devotion receive divine blessings, fulfillment of desires, peace for ancestors, and spiritual upliftment.
